The V4-CPCI development board provides a development platform for the early development and rapid prototyping of complex Xilinx Virtex-4 FPGA designs and has been specifically developed to enable the implementation of designs using the LEON VHDL models.

The V4-CPCI development board is available with a large capacity Virtex-4 FPGA and is equipped with on board flash memory and SO-DIMM interface for SDRAM.

The board can be configured to support the development of systems and applications in a number of different configurations:

• Stand-alone Virtex-4 FPGA development
• Stand-alone LEON development
LEON-FT development
• Compact PCI plug-in card

• Virtex-4 FPGA in FF1513 package (XC4VLX100, LX160 or LX200 devices)
• Typical core speeds 50 to 120MHz (depending on speed grade and core configurations)
• In circuit programmability with JTAG interface or Slave Serial/Parallel interface
• On board configuration proms (64Mbit: 2 x XCF32P as standard configuration)
• Standard Compact PCI plug-in format (3U 4HP, 32/64 bit, 33/66MHz, 3.3V)
• Configurable as PCI plug-in card in either SYSTEM or PERIPHERAL slots
• Capable of being used in standard PC PCI slots using adapter board
• SDRAM:  SO-DIMM socket (up to 64M x 64 bit)
• FLASH: 128Mbit on-board (4M x 32 bit)
• SRAM:  via Memory Expansion connector and Mezzanine board
• Serial/Debug Support Unit interface (RS232, standard SUB-D9 female connector)
• Memory expansion connector (120 pin expansion connector: AMP 177-984-5)
• User I/O Connectors (up to 172 user defined i/o connections with 120 pin and 60 pin connectors: AMP 177-984-5 and -2)
• Ethernet PHY 10/100 transceiver, with RJ45 10/100Mbit Ethernet connector
• GPIO expansion connector (16 user defined i/o connections on 20 pin 0.1” header)
• GPIO interface expandable with optional 2 x RS232 / 2 x RS422 / 2 x LVDS / 2 x CAN interfaces
• Front panel connector for boundary scan (JTAG) Test Access Port
• 5V power input, either from external power supply (in stand-alone operation) or from
+5V PCI power supply via PCI connector pins. (configurable also to operate from 3.3V)
• On-board voltage regulators generating +3.3V and +2.5V/+1.8V/+1.2V regulated power supply voltages for the memory/peripherals and FPGA core respectively
• Standard Compact PCI plug-in format (3U 4HP, 32/64 bit, 33/66MHz, 3.3V)
• Configurable as PCI plug-in card in either SYSTEM or PERIPHERAL slots
• Capable of being used in standard PC PCI slots using adapter board

•V4-CPCI Board
CD containing: user's manual, complete schematics, necessary .ucf files for Xilinx place&route tools, LECCS cross-compiler system, Evaluation Version of GRMON, LEON3 VHDL model.
•A pre-synthesized LEON Netlist is programmed in the FPGA configuration prom, using a standard LEON configuration with DSU, PCI and Ethernet.
