Product Description:
PALMiCE2-SuperH is a JTAG
emulator that supports Renesas SuperH family cores. It consists of PALMiCE2 hardware and dedicated CSIDE
debugger software. The host interface supports USB2.0 (High-speed)
allowing faster processing of various tasks such as high-speed
downloading at 1M byte/S or higher at the remarkable level. TheVbus,
which requires no power supply, is also supported in PALMiCE2-SuperH.
PALMiCE2-SuperH has a palm-sized, light and compact body, providing
excellent portability to support designers with debugging. The product
is available in H-UDI model and AUD model with branch
tracing feature which allows to track execution within cache memory. As
for the debugger, it surely incorporates CSIDE, which provides a
user-friendly debugging environment. It supports not only high-level
language debugging of a range of C languages but also fully prepared for
the debugging of a range of RTOSs and embedded Linux.

Debugger software CSIDE is
an integrated development environment
that provides an
editor, a builder, and a debugger. The CSIDE enables an editor to
be opened by a tag
jump to a location where an error occurred and breakpoints to be set
directly on the editor
screen. A built file can be downloaded to the debugger (CSIDE)
automatically.
CSIDE supports the following:
Direct Data Change -changes values and settings directly without
using the
menu.
Double-Click Action -enables the set content to be changed easily in
a setting dialog box.
Simply move the mouse cursor to an item to be changed, double-click to open a dialog box,
and change it.
Pop-up Menu -is allocated to the all functions of each window.

The PALMiCE2 unit has a palm-sized body and does not require power supply
(supports Vbus). The use of the USB as an interface with a host provides
excellent portability and flexibility.

Features:
Supports USB standard Revision 2.0 High-speed and
Full-speed
Needs no power supply to PALMiCE2 (Supports VBus)
Makes a simple connection with PCs
Makes a simple connection with the target system
Supports on-chip flash memory (SH-2 (Except
SH7618, SH7619, SH7606))
Has a light and compact body
Enables latest CSIDE to be downloaded from the
Internet

Functional
Specification By CPU

*1: The feature allows
referencing /editing of target memory, I/O,
and on-chip memory in CPU without even a
temporary break during user program
execution.
It is suitable for target
debugging pursuing real-timeliness. RAM
monitor feature by AUD(which cannot be used
in parallel with branch tracing feature) and
H-UDI read/write feature
by H-UDI are
available.
*2: The feature allows to measure and show
execution cycle count, valid instruction
line cycle count, cache hit rate, and
frequency of interrupt and access to on-chip
I/O.
*3: CPU: 8 points can be specified
(Instruction only: 2 points,
Instruction/Operand address: 2 points,
Instruction/Operand address + data: 2
points, Access break within the memory
range
you specified: 2 points). Another bus: 2
points can be specified (by data access).
Other: 1 point (Break during LDTLB
instruction execution).
*4: Instruction (before/after execution
option)/Operand address + data: 2 points can
be specified. Instruction (before/after
execution): 1point can be specified.
Instruction (before execution)
only:7 points
can be specified.
*5: Also supports user RAM tracing to output
the traced data to the user memory area you
specified besides tracing for maximum of 8
branches within CPU.
*6: Access information such as
Read/Write/Fetch/DMA can be acquired besides
branching information.
*7: SH7083F/84F/85F/86F、SH7149F only
supports marketable chip (debugging chip).
*8: SH7780、SH7206/SH7083F/84F/85F/86F allows
to show software tracing. |
